CBD Basics
What is CBD?
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a natural compound found in hemp and other cannabis plants. It's non-intoxicating, so it won't make you feel high. CBD comes in many forms, including oil tinctures, gummies, softgels and topicals.
What are cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are compounds made by cannabis plants. CBD and THC are the best known, and there are more than 100 others, such as CBG and CBN. They interact with the body's endocannabinoid system, a network of receptors found throughout the body.
What's the difference between hemp and marijuana?
Both are cannabis plants. Under federal law, hemp has 0.3% delta-9 THC or less by dry weight, while marijuana has more. Hemp is grown for fiber, seed and CBD; marijuana is grown for its THC. GoGreen Hemp products are made only from hemp.
Will CBD get me high?
No. CBD is non-intoxicating. THC is the compound in cannabis that causes a high, and our broad-spectrum products are lab-tested to confirm non-detectable THC.
What's the difference between isolate, broad-spectrum and full-spectrum CBD?
CBD isolate is pure CBD. Broad-spectrum CBD keeps other cannabinoids and terpenes from the hemp plant but has the THC removed. Full-spectrum CBD keeps everything, including trace THC up to the 0.3% legal limit. Most GoGreen Hemp products are broad-spectrum; our full-spectrum gummies are the exception.
Safety, THC and Lab Testing
Is CBD safe?
In a 2018 review, the World Health Organization found that CBD shows no signs of abuse or dependence potential in humans. CBD can cause side effects in some people and can interact with certain medications, so talk to your doctor before using CBD, especially if you take prescription medicine or are pregnant or nursing.
Do GoGreen Hemp products contain THC?
Most of our products are broad-spectrum and test at non-detectable THC. Our full-spectrum gummies contain trace THC within the federal limit, and they aren't sold in states that don't allow THC in hemp products.
Will CBD show up on a drug test?
Most drug tests look for THC, not CBD. Our broad-spectrum products test at non-detectable THC, so they shouldn't cause a positive result, but testing methods vary and no brand can guarantee a result. If you're tested for work, talk to your employer or doctor first, and avoid full-spectrum products.
How do I know what's in my CBD?
Check the certificate of analysis (COA), a lab report from an independent lab. It shows how much CBD and THC the batch contains and whether it passed tests for pesticides, heavy metals and microbials. Match the batch number on the report to the one on your bottle. You can find ours on our lab results page.
Using CBD
How much CBD should I take?
Start with the serving size on the label. Many adults start around 20 to 30 mg of CBD a day and adjust slowly from there. Everyone responds differently, and CBD isn't approved by the FDA to treat any condition, so check with your doctor if you have health questions.
How do I take a CBD oil tincture?
Place the serving under your tongue and hold it for 60 to 90 seconds before swallowing. You can also add it to food or a drink.
How long does CBD take to work?
Tinctures held under the tongue are usually felt within 15 to 45 minutes. Gummies and softgels go through digestion first, so they can take 30 to 90 minutes. Topicals work where you apply them.
How should I store CBD?
Keep CBD upright in a cool, dark place, away from heat and direct sunlight. It doesn't need refrigeration, and most of our products stay fresh for up to 24 months.
Can I give CBD to my pet?
We make CBD products for pets, dosed for animals. Don't give pets CBD made for people, and talk to your veterinarian before starting.
Buying CBD: Laws, Age and Shipping
Is CBD legal in my state?
Hemp-derived CBD is legal under federal law, but each state sets its own rules. Some states require zero THC, some limit online sales, and some require products or sellers to be registered. See our state-by-state CBD guides for your state's current rules.
How old do you have to be to buy CBD?
GoGreen Hemp sells to adults 18 and over, and to adults 21 and over where state law requires it, including Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota and Texas, and Florida for CBD you swallow.
Is the federal hemp law changing?
Yes. A new federal definition of hemp takes effect December 11, 2026, limiting finished hemp products to 0.4 mg of total THC per container. Our broad-spectrum products are made to contain non-detectable THC.
How fast do you ship?
Orders ship within one business day by Priority Mail from our Florida headquarters, with tracking. Most orders arrive in 2 to 7 business days, depending on where you live, and shipping is free on orders over $49.99.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes. Every order is covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee. See our return policy for details.
