What Changed: Indiana's Hemp Law Timeline
March 21, 2018: SEA 52. Governor Eric Holcomb signed the law that legalized low-THC hemp extract, including CBD, and created Indiana's QR-code labeling rules.
2019: SEA 516. Indiana created its state hemp program and banned smokable hemp flower.
February 27, 2026: SB 250 dies. SB 250 would have capped hemp products at 0.4 mg of THC per container, required buyers to be 21 or older, and banned online and delivery sales of hemp products. It passed the Senate 35–15 but stalled in the House, and a last-minute attempt to add it to another bill failed.
December 11, 2026: Federal changes are coming. Congress has passed a new federal definition of hemp that limits finished products to 0.4 mg of total THC per container. It was set to take effect on November 12, 2026, and has since been pushed back to December 11, 2026. GoGreen Hemp's broad-spectrum products are made to contain 0.0% THC.
